Qingdao Workshop on Coding Theory and Related Topics

The Qingdao Workshop on Coding Theory and Related Topics will take place from June 21–27, 2026, at Shandong University’s Qingdao campus. The workshop aims to bring together leading researchers from the fields of coding theory, combinatorics, and theoretical computer science to share and discuss the latest advancements, challenges, and future directions in coding theory and its related disciplines. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Coding for distributed storage systems
  • Coding for DNA storage
  • List decoding and list recovery
  • Polar codes
  • Pseudorandomness
  • Quantum error-correcting codes

Dates: June 21, Sunday (Arrival and Registration) - June 27, Saturday (Departure)

For participants attending ISIT in Guangzhou, we recommend booking China Southern Airlines Flight CZ3520, and we will arrange vehicles to take everyone to the airport together at that time. Arriving by plane:

Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport (TAO) is well connected to major cities in China, Japan and Korea. When searching for flights, one could consider to transfer in Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo and Seoul. The other option is to fly to Beijing and take the high-speed train to Qingdao. This option is less recommended for 1st time China visit, due to the work needed to transfer from airport to train station in Beijing.

Arriving by train:

There are multiple train stations in Qingdao. We recommend Qingdaobei Station (North Qingdao Station, 青岛北站). One can also arrive at Qingdao Station (青岛站). DO NOT buy tickects to Qingdaoxi Station (West Qingdao Station, 青岛西站) which is not well connected with the main city area.
